Card meaning

The story of the Three of Pentacles is a story of recognition. Even though a project or work you do may be the final result of teamwork, when the Three of Pentacles appears it is because you have become an artisan—the true front-runner—an artist or leader whom is recognized for their contribution. If you have built upon the work of others, it’s important to recognize them also, but now is not the time or the place for humility.

Whatever you are working on has been emotionally and financially fulfilling, and the Three of Pentacles reminds you that such jobs as these exist. You are professional, and have earned the right to break out of conventionality and procedure using your creativity. But this doesn’t mean that you haven’t learned the value of convention and procedure. In fact, following convention is the only way to make a professional in any area of work. Being honest and fair with others, and by recognizing others who carried you while you were learning, are key areas to your success that you must now remember and honor in order to teach others.

When this card appears, seek opportunities to use the freedom success brings to drive you even further, but remember to respect the conventions that brought you to success to begin with. Some flexibility is rewarded, especially when it comes to self-expression, but don’t stray too far from the rules.
