About the Halloween Tarot
Kipling West built the Halloween Tarot on the structure of the Rider-Waite-Smith system and then reworked every image through a lens of vintage American Halloween: 1920s vegetable people toys, German holiday decorations, 1930s monster movie characters, and the atmosphere of a rural harvest festival gone delightfully strange. The result is a deck that reads like a children’s book set in Ray Bradbury’s neighborhood, warm and autumnal with just enough edge.
The Minor Arcana suits are renamed to match the season: Wands become Imps, Cups become Ghosts, Swords become Bats, and Coins become Pumpkins. A black cat appears somewhere on every single card, moving through the deck like a familiar guiding the reader. The Major Arcana includes standouts like the High Priestess as a vampire on a crescent moon and the Tower as a lightning-struck haunted house.
