Cinnamon Ritual Oil: The Fiery Spice in Folk Magic
Cinnamon has held a place in sacred and medicinal practice across nearly every culture that encountered it, from ancient Egypt, where it was listed in Ebers Papyrus medical texts dating to 1550 BCE, through the ancient spice trade routes that made it one of the most coveted commodities in the pre-modern world. Cinnamon oil is used in hoodoo money and luck work, and in folk magic cinnamon carries two dominant energies: heat and speed. Where slower-acting prosperity herbs like bay and basil build wealth incrementally over time, cinnamon accelerates whatever intention it accompanies, functioning as a magical catalyst that brings results faster. Practitioners add cinnamon oil to money-drawing and love preparations specifically to speed their action.
This is a ritual aroma oil, not a culinary cinnamon extract or a product for aromatherapy use. Pure cinnamon oil is notoriously irritating to skin even at low concentrations, which is one reason Espiritu’s ritual fragrance formulation is the practical choice for anointing and candle work. Money Drawing, Love, and Passion: Cinnamon’s Multi-Use Power
Cinnamon sits at the intersection of three major ritual categories: prosperity, passion, and protection. For money work, practitioners dress green candles with cinnamon oil, sprinkle cinnamon inside wallets and cash registers, or add it to charm bags alongside lodestones and pyrite. The folk practice of blowing cinnamon powder into the front door on the first of each month is meant to invite prosperity. For love and passion workings, cinnamon’s fiery nature makes it a natural pairing with rose and damiana in attraction preparations.
Green candles are the classic pairing for money-drawing cinnamon work. Red and orange candles serve passion and desire. Gold candles work well when the goal is recognition or solar-themed success. The 2-dram size is proportioned for consistent candle-dressing use. Pair with herbs from my herbs and accessories collection to build out a complete prosperity working.
How to Use Espiritu Cinnamon Oil
Three practical ways to use Espiritu Cinnamon ritual oil in your spiritual practice.
- Dress Money-Drawing Candles
Apply cinnamon oil to green candles from base to wick while focusing on your prosperity intention. Cinnamon is a fire element herb that accelerates money-drawing workings, heating up the spell to bring results faster than cooler herbs alone.
- Anoint Your Wallet or Cash Register
Place a drop of cinnamon oil inside your wallet or on a folded dollar bill kept as a money anchor. You can also anoint cash register corners. This practice applies oil where financial exchange happens to amplify and attract more income.
- Add to Love and Passion Preparations
Blend cinnamon oil with rose or damiana preparations for love and desire workings. Dress a red or orange candle with the combined blend when the goal is attraction or passion. Cinnamon heats and intensifies the energy of any love working it joins.
The Tarot Fellow Standard
I carry Espiritu Cinnamon oil because cinnamon is one of the most multi-purpose ritual ingredients in the catalog, and having a dedicated ritual-grade fragrance oil version means practitioners can work with it cleanly on candles and objects without the skin sensitization risk of concentrated cinnamon oil. Espiritu’s formula is consistent and focused on ritual application. Browse my full Espiritu oils collection to find complementary formulas for money drawing and passion work.
