Place a taper or chime candle on your altar. Put a drop or two of rue oil on your fingertips and stroke the candle from base to tip, focusing on pushing harmful energy away from you. State your intention aloud before lighting.
- Dress a Mojo Bag or Charm
Add a pinch of dried rue herb to a small flannel bag alongside any protective stones you use. Anoint the outside of the bag with a single drop of rue oil. Breathe into the bag and close it, sealing your intent inside the charm.
- Apply to Doorways and Thresholds
Dip a fingertip or small cloth into the oil and trace a thin line across your doorframe or windowsill. Rue has long been used this way in ruda traditions across Latin America and in European folk magic as a threshold guardian against the evil eye.
