Cinnamon Incense in Ritual and Magical Tradition
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum and related species) carries a consistent set of magical correspondences in many folk traditions. It is a common ingredient in money-drawing, fast-luck, and passion-drawing formulas. It corresponds to the fire element and the sun, making it appropriate for spells requiring energy, speed, and increase. It also appears in prosperity candle dressings and is burned to attract abundance and warm up a cold ritual atmosphere. The scent is immediate and unmistakable, which is part of why it works so well as an aromatic signal to the subconscious that prosperity-focused work is underway.
Sonavi produces these sticks in India using a hand-rolled masala method, meaning the cinnamon and complementary aromatics are blended into the stick rather than applied as a surface coating. The result is a fuller, more complex burn than fragrance-oil-dipped incense, with the spicy warmth of the cinnamon supported by woody base notes. The 25g pack provides a generous supply of material for multiple ritual sessions, making it a practical choice for practitioners who work with cinnamon incense regularly as part of a money-drawing or manifestation practice.
Using Cinnamon Incense for Abundance and Love Work
Cinnamon’s dual role in both prosperity and love work makes it unusually versatile for a single-scent incense. For money rituals, practitioners burn it alongside green candles, petition papers, or money-drawing ritual oils to add the warming, attracting quality of fire energy to the working. For love and passion rituals, it pairs naturally with rose and ylang-ylang, adding heat and urgency to softer, floral blends. The key in both cases is maintaining a clear intention throughout the burn rather than lighting it passively. Timing matters when working with solar and fire-correspondence incenses. Thursday (Jupiter) and Sunday (Sun) are traditional days for abundance and success workings across multiple folk magic calendars. Burning cinnamon incense during waxing moon phases aligns with its drawing and increasing nature. The aroma itself does much of the atmospheric work, filling the ritual space with warmth and energetic stimulation in a way that supports focused intentional practice.
How to Use Cinnamon Incense Sticks
How to burn cinnamon incense sticks for prosperity, love, and fire-element ritual work.
- Light and Settle the Stick
Fan the sticks out of the pack and select one for your session. Light the tip, let the flame catch for several seconds, then blow it out so the ember glows steadily. Place it upright in a stable incense holder before stepping back.
- Work Your Prosperity or Love Ritual
For prosperity work, burn cinnamon incense on a Thursday, traditionally associated with Jupiter and abundance. Set a green or gold candle alongside the stick and hold your intention of financial growth while the spicy smoke builds.
- Complete the Burn and Close
Let the stick burn down completely without extinguishing it mid-burn, as cinnamon incense releases its full aromatic profile only during sustained combustion. Snuff candles after the stick finishes to close the ritual cleanly.
