When someone is spreading lies about you, sabotaging your work, or actively sending harm your way, a binding works to stop that behavior at its source. Binding formulas are used to tie up the harmful intentions of an enemy so they can no longer act against you. The word “binding” is literal: you are, symbolically and spiritually, tying something in place.
