Kashmir Blend: A Warm Spice Resin for Ritual Use
Kashmir blend, also labeled as Christmas Blend by 1618 Gold, is a composite granular incense formulated around a warm spice and resin aromatic profile. The name Kashmir references the layered, complex character of the blend rather than a geographic origin, evoking the deep, rich fragrance associated with centuries-old winter ceremonial incense traditions. The Christmas Blend descriptor is similarly aromatic in reference, not tied to any specific religious observance, and reflects the blend’s character as a warm, resinous fragrance suited to cold-season altar work and fire-centered ritual practice.
Warm spice incense blends occupy a specific role in ritual practice that differs from single-resin incenses like frankincense or myrrh. While single resins are often used for their straightforward purifying or devotional associations, blended spice incenses are traditionally associated with abundance, warmth, hospitality, and the consecration of festive or seasonal altars. In folk magic and ceremonial traditions, incense blends built around warm spices are frequently used at the winter solstice, Yule, and in new year workings intended to attract prosperity and favorable conditions for the coming cycle.
Using Kashmir Blend in Your Practice
The Kashmir blend’s layered aromatic output makes it well suited for longer rituals where you want the fragrance to build and sustain over time. Unlike single resins, which tend to peak quickly and then fade, blended granular incenses with multiple resin and spice components produce a more complex evolution of scent as the charcoal heat draws out different volatile compounds in sequence. This makes Kashmir blend a good choice for meditation sessions, extended altar work, and any ceremony where the atmosphere matters as much as the action. You can browse my granular and resin incense collection for other 1618 Gold blends and single resins to pair with this one.
The 1 oz package provides a comfortable working supply for multiple sessions. Because granular incense is used in small amounts per burn, a one-ounce supply typically yields many individual ritual uses. Store the remainder in a sealed container, as the spice components in this blend are particularly susceptible to moisture absorption and ambient fragrance contamination if left open.
How to Use Kashmir Christmas Blend Granular Incense
How to burn Kashmir Christmas Blend granular incense for ritual or ceremonial use.
- Light the Charcoal
Light a charcoal disc in a heat-safe burner and wait until it is fully ashed over before adding the Kashmir blend. Place a small amount of granules on the glowing surface and allow the warmth to slowly draw out the layered aromatic profile.
- Add Granules and Build the Burn
Add the Kashmir blend in small increments to build sustained smoke. Its spice-forward profile suits warmth-oriented intentions and seasonal altar work. Add more granules when smoke fades to maintain a steady aromatic output throughout the ritual.
- Dispose and Store
Allow the charcoal to cool and ash over fully before disposing. Store the remaining granules sealed in a cool, dry location away from sunlight. The spice components in this blend retain their aromatic depth best when kept in an airtight container.
The Tarot Fellow Standard
I stock the 1618 Gold Kashmir blend because warm spice resin blends are genuinely useful at certain times of year and for specific types of workings where a single-note resin does not quite fit. This blend fills that niche with an aromatic profile that is full and complex without being overpowering. The 1618 Gold sourcing means the resin content is consistent enough to burn cleanly on a charcoal disc without excessive char or thin smoke. For practitioners who work with seasonal cycles, this is a reliable staple. Browse my altar supplies collection for complementary ritual tools.
Frequently Asked Questions
Kashmir blend is a composite incense that typically combines warm spice resins with base notes evoking traditional winter ceremonial fragrances. The Christmas Blend descriptor refers to its aromatic character, not a religious designation.
Warm spice resin blends like Kashmir are used in ritual for consecration, prosperity work, hospitality offerings, and seasonal ceremonies. The layered aromatic profile suits altars dedicated to solar deities or abundance workings.
1618 Gold is a curated line of granular incense selected for consistent resin quality and aromatic depth. The brand focuses on ritual-grade blends and single-origin resins rather than the mass-market incense stick category.
Yes. Granular resin incense requires a burning charcoal disc or electric resin burner to release its smoke. It does not self-ignite like stick or cone incense and should never be placed on open flame without a proper heat-resistant burner.
