Seven Centers, Seven Stones
The chakra system comes to us through Hindu and Tantric tradition, first mapped in Sanskrit texts and codified most completely in the 16th-century Sat-Cakra-Nirupana, which translates roughly as “Description of and Investigation into the Six Bodily Centres.” That text laid out the now-familiar ladder of energy centers running from the base of the spine to the crown of the skull. Each center, muladhara to sahasrara, carries a Sanskrit name, a color correspondence, and a set of associated qualities ranging from physical survival at the root to undifferentiated awareness at the crown. I find it useful to hold that history lightly, because it grounds the practice in something real rather than treating the chakra system as a vague modern wellness concept.
The seven-stone correspondence used in this raw gemstone set runs as follows: red jasper for the root (muladhara), carnelian for the sacral (svadhisthana), yellow aventurine for the solar plexus (manipura), green aventurine for the heart (anahata), angelite for the throat (vishuddha), sodalite for the third eye (ajna), and amethyst for the crown (sahasrara). Each stone is chosen for color resonance with the chakra’s traditional hue and the specific mineral properties practitioners associate with that center. Amethyst sits at the crown because its high-frequency vibration aligns with the spiritual connectivity the crown chakra is meant to facilitate.
Raw stones differ from tumbled stones in one practical way: their surfaces haven’t been smoothed by a tumbler. That means each piece looks closer to how it came out of the ground, with natural fractures, matrix inclusions, and irregular edges. Some practitioners prefer raw stones for meditation because the unpolished surface feels less processed and more direct. Others prefer the smooth weight of a tumbled stone in the palm. There’s no wrong answer. The stones in this kit are raw, so expect them to be angular, varied in size, and distinct from one another rather than uniform.
How to Do a Chakra Body Layout
A simple body layout practice using all seven chakra stones.
- Prepare your space and stones
Lay down somewhere comfortable and flat. Set out all 7 stones in front of you in order from root to crown. Take a few slow breaths to settle before you begin placing them.
- Place each stone on its chakra point
Place red jasper at your root, carnelian at the lower belly, yellow aventurine at the navel, green aventurine at the chest, angelite at the throat, sodalite at the brow, and amethyst just above the crown.
- Rest and breathe for 10 to 20 minutes
Close your eyes and breathe steadily. Notice any warmth, pressure, or sensation at each point. When you are ready, remove stones in reverse order, crown to root, and return them to the bag.
Tarot Fellow Standard
I stock chakra stone sets because the format works for a wide range of people, from someone sitting down with stones for the first time to a practitioner who wants a portable kit they don’t need to assemble themselves. The supplier I use for this set has been consistent on the stone identification and pack quality over multiple reorder cycles. I check incoming stock against the stated stone list. I won’t stock a chakra set where the identifications are clearly wrong or where filler stones have been substituted without disclosure.
One honest note about raw stones: because these aren’t tumbled to a uniform size, the pieces in your set will look different from the product photo and from each other. Red jasper might arrive as a flat shard; your carnelian might be chunky where someone else’s is thin. That variability is intrinsic to raw stones and isn’t a defect. If uniformity matters to you, a tumbled chakra set is the better call. If you want stones that feel genuinely mineral and unprocessed, these deliver that.
Pair this set with our chakra and meditation products for complementary tools, or explore our full crystal kits collection if you’re building out a broader practice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Red jasper (root), carnelian (sacral), yellow aventurine (solar plexus), green aventurine (heart), angelite (throat), sodalite (third eye), amethyst (crown). Each follows the traditional chakra color correspondence.
They are natural, unpolished raw stones. They have not been tumbled or dyed. Color variation between pieces is normal and reflects the natural mineral composition of each stone type.
Rinse briefly under cool running water and pat dry. Store in the included velveteen bag away from direct sunlight, which can fade certain stones over time. Avoid soaking Angelite, as prolonged water exposure can damage its surface.
Yes. The seven stones work well as anchor points in a chakra-alignment grid. Place them along a central axis on a flat surface, set an intention, and surround them with any additional stones you want to include in the grid.
