Granular incense — loose botanical and resin blends burned on hot charcoal disks — is the format used in temple ceremonies, grimoire-era ritual fumigations, and serious magical workings across traditions from ancient Egypt to modern ceremonial magic. It’s the incense format that most directly connects practitioners to the pre-modern world of sacred smoke.
Unlike stick incense, granular blends burn in direct contact with the charcoal’s heat, releasing the full spectrum of botanical fragrance in a rich, continuous smoke that transforms a room’s atmosphere completely. Browse granular blends keyed to specific ritual intentions — purification, love drawing, protection, psychic work — and specialty formulations in the 1618 Gold line for premium ceremonial quality.
To use: light a self-lighting charcoal disk in a heatproof censer, allow it to turn ash-gray, then add a small amount of granular incense. The smoke rises immediately and richly. Adjust the amount for the intensity of smoke you prefer. Pair with a quality censer and a ritual intention for the most immersive experience.
