Citrine Crystal Points for Abundance and Solar Plexus Work
Citrine is a yellow-to-orange variety of quartz, colored by iron impurities during its formation. Natural citrine forms in hydrothermal quartz veins and is found primarily in Brazil, Madagascar, and parts of Africa. Most commercial citrine, including much of the bright orange “Madeira” material commonly sold, is heat-treated amethyst or smoky quartz, a process that converts the purple or gray iron oxide into the yellow ferric form. Both natural and heat-treated citrine share the same chemical composition and carry comparable traditional associations in crystal practice.
In folk and metaphysical traditions, citrine has been called the Merchant’s Stone because of its long association with commerce, confidence, and prosperity. Business owners historically placed a piece in their cash register or coin purse to attract financial flow, a practice that continues today. The solar plexus chakra, the energy center associated with willpower, clarity, and self-determination, is citrine’s primary correspondence, and practitioners working with this stone usually focus on themes of abundance, motivation, and clearing mental resistance to positive outcomes.
Why Crystal Points for Gridwork and Directional Energy
The point formation preserves the crystal’s natural termination, the tapered apex that forms at the end of prismatic quartz growth. This geometry allows the stone to be oriented intentionally in a grid, with the termination directing energy either outward from a center or inward toward a focal object. A one-pound lot of citrine points gives you enough material to build a substantial prosperity grid and still have pieces left for desk placement or chakra layouts. Browse my crystal points collection for complementary point varieties to combine with citrine.
Citrine pairs particularly well with clear quartz, which amplifies any adjacent stone’s energy, and with pyrite, the traditional “fool’s gold” stone used in prosperity magic. For solar plexus work, placing a citrine point directly on the body above the navel during a ten-to-twenty-minute meditation is a common practice. Citrine is also one of the few crystals that practitioners traditionally do not feel the need to cleanse, because its solar energy is said to be self-refreshing rather than accumulative of outside influences.
How to Use Citrine Crystal Points
How to use this product.
- Solar Charge Before Use
Place citrine points in a sunlit spot for several hours before use. Citrine responds well to solar charging, and sunlight deepens the yellow-orange color. This method is widely used by practitioners to refresh the stone’s energy before grid or.
- Build an Abundance Grid
Build an abundance grid by placing citrine points in a circle with terminations outward, surrounding a written central intention. Outward-facing terminations project energy from the grid into the surrounding space, the traditional orientation for.
- Feng Shui Desk Placement
For desk placement, set one citrine point in the southeast corner of your workspace with the termination facing the room. This corner corresponds to wealth in Feng Shui, and citrine points placed here are traditionally used to encourage financial.
The Tarot Fellow Standard
I carry citrine points in bulk because they’re one of the most-requested stones for abundance grids and solar plexus chakra work, and selling them by the pound means you actually get enough to build a real grid instead of buying three points at a time. I look for pieces with visible, intact terminations because that geometry is what makes a point useful rather than just decorative. Frequently Asked Questions
Citrine is called the Merchant’s Stone and corresponds to the solar plexus chakra. Practitioners use it for manifestation and positive energy, often placing it in wealth corners or near cash registers, aligning with its reputation for attracting.
Most commercial citrine is heat-treated amethyst or smoky quartz that produces yellow and orange coloration. Natural citrine is far less common and usually pale yellow. Both carry the same identification and comparable metaphysical associations in.
Citrine points placed with terminations outward project solar energy into the surrounding space; inward, they focus on a central intention. They pair well with clear quartz for amplification and with pyrite for financial manifestation grid work.
Citrine primarily corresponds to the solar plexus chakra above the navel, which governs personal power and manifestation. It also links to the sacral chakra, and practitioners sometimes place a point on both centers during meditation to activate.
