Story: The Physical
Element: Earth

The Eight is how we first try to overcome the obstacle of the Seven, or the result when we do… if we’ve learned our lesson, that is. Keywords: Experience, Leaving, Learning, Stuck, Quick – yes, this one has some contradictions, doesn’t it? Why do you think that is?

Card meaning

The story of the Eight of Pentacles is one of learning something new. When it shows up in a reading, it’s time to apply yourself, take a class, go back to school, or even learn something new about your current field of work by seeking a mentor or teacher.

This card can also refer to all kinds of physical labor or vocations. Trade schools or learning outside of traditional methods are all supported when this card appears in your reading. In fact, the tradesman depicted on this card symbolizes learning in any capacity.

This includes art, traditional ways of learning, as well as spiritual work or spiritual mentorship if your Pentacle path is so inclined. There is an adage that says when the student is ready the teacher will appear. When the Eight of Pentacles shows up, you are ready, and your teacher is coming.

While your reward for your hard work and dedication may be a ways off, rest assured that it’s coming, and your dedication will pay off much more handsomely than you ever expected.
