Maybe it’s because I run a metaphysical store (and yes, I know it’s harder to type into Google than, say, “witchcraft supplies”) where you’ll find tools used by witches from all walks of life. Maybe it’s because I was one of the first to bring a metaphysical shop into TikTok Shop, realizing the #WitchTok community was wildly underserved. Or maybe it’s because I talk to Spirit in ways that only witches have been known to do…
…but people often ask: “What kind of witch are you?”
Am I a kitchen witch? A green witch? A crystal witch? A psychic witch? Or, my personal favorite, an evil witch?
But like our friend Dorothy, I’ll have to answer with, “I’m not a witch at all.”
I’m more like this…
Here’s the thing: you don’t have to choose between being religious or being a witch. And if you do feel at home with the witch label, amazing! Wear it boldly. But if nothing feels like it quite fits? That’s valid too.
Spirituality is messy, mysterious, and deeply personal. It resists little human boxes. I’ve been called a witch, a psychic, a medium, a spiritualist, and a few unmentionables not fit for polite company, and none of them fully capture what I do.
Even “Tarot Fellow” doesn’t define me; it gives a respectful nod to where I started.
The real issue with spiritual labels isn’t identity. It’s expectation.
If I’m a “witch,” then I must be casting spells in a black cloak, brewing potions in a cauldron, and dancing naked under the moon, right?
Well… I do talk to fire spirits around sacred flames, and the moon has seen a thing or two, so I can understand how I might be perceived from the outside, even if that’s not what I do, or how I feel, on the inside.
If you’re someone who’s been handed labels that don’t fit, if you feel the sacred call of Spirit but struggle to put it into words, or if you’re just trying to explain the unexplainable to the ‘muggles’ in your life, I get it.
Yes, I carry witchcraft supplies. I also carry spiritual tools that invite you to explore, to carve your own path, and most importantly, to listen to Spirit whether you identify as a witch, a seeker, or just someone who knows there’s something more.
